Games

Suggested Games:

1) Mother May I-Mother gives command. Child must say “Mother, may I?” before action or go to back of line.

2) Stationary Scavenger Hunt-Leader instruct, ‘Go get a glass of water; (brown shoe, belt, orange juice). Quickest obedience wins a point.

3) Ringmaster-Leader says,

‘Hop like a bunny’

‘Waddle like a duck’

‘Leap like a frog’

‘Crawl like a snake’ After the children get the hang of it, say it faster & faster.

4) Memory Verse Strips Several copies of the memory verse printed on white paper with a large font. Then each line should be cut into strips so each child will have only a few words each. When completed they can tape it together.

5) Memory Verse Erase: After introducing the Bible memory verse, write it on the dry erase board. Have the children read the verse together. Then ask for a volunteer to read it aloud. This child is then allowed to erase one word from the verse. Call on another child to read the scripture as it was originally written. Then allow them to erase a word.

6) Game: Blindfold one youth and have him work his way through an obstacle course by listening to his guide call out directions. To make it more confusing, have a false guide call out incorrect directions, trying to make the youth stumble into obstacles. Discuss how obedience to God's word sometimes means refusing to obey the schemes or plans of others who would cause them to stumble.
